Updated 12 October 2026. Perennial Subscriptions is provided by Klientship Technologies. We process subscription data to provide the app to Shopify merchants and their customers.
Data we process
For customers with subscriptions, the app stores names, email addresses, phone numbers, language preferences and delivery addresses; subscription products, quantities, prices, schedules and status; order and billing history; and cancellation feedback and merchant notes. It also stores notification messages and records of subscription actions. Merchant-uploaded migration files can contain subscription customer details before an import is completed.
Payment information is limited to the payment-method brand, last four digits and expiry for display. Shopify vaults payment credentials and processes subscription payments. Perennial does not collect or store complete card numbers or card security codes. Portal sign-in tokens are stored as hashes.
How data is used
We use this data to synchronize subscriptions, create scheduled billing attempts through Shopify, manage delivery details, provide customer self-service, send subscription and payment notifications, and help merchants understand subscription activity. We do not sell customer personal data.
Service providers and merchant integrations
Data is hosted on the app’s server and database and exchanged with Shopify to operate subscriptions. Configured email and SMS providers receive the information needed to deliver messages. When a merchant enables Klaviyo, subscription events and the customer’s email address are sent to that integration. Merchant-configured outgoing webhooks receive event identifiers, amounts and dates, rather than customer contact details.
Access and retention
App records are scoped to the relevant Shopify shop. Customer portal access uses expiring links or verified customer-account sessions. Shopify authorization is required for merchant access. We retain subscription information while providing the service to the merchant.
Uninstalling deletes Shopify sessions and cancels queued jobs. When Shopify sends its shop data-erasure request, the app deletes the shop’s records. Customer erasure requests remove contact details, delivery addresses, notes, feedback, portal links and messages; matching migration rows and personal activity details are also cleared. Subscription and payment history may remain with contact details removed for merchant accounting. A minimal customer ID and erasure marker prevent later synchronization from restoring erased details.
Your requests
Customers should contact the store merchant about their subscription, access to their data, correction or deletion. The merchant can export subscriber data from the app. For questions about Perennial or assistance with a privacy request, email contact@klientship.in.
